Bard, Google’s generative AI chatbot and a competitor to ChatGPT, is reportedly considering the introduction of a new “Memory” feature. According to an early version of Bard’s user interface viewed by 9to5Google, this feature would allow the AI chatbot to remember and recall important details about you and your preferences. It would then leverage this stored information to improve its future interactions and responses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, if a user provided Google Bard with specific instructions to remember, such as ‘avoid eating meat’ and ‘I have 2 kids.’ The chatbot subsequently utilizes this information when generating travel recommendations and recipes. This functionality bears a resemblance to ChatGPT’s recently introduced ‘custom instructions’ feature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ‘Memory’ page of Google Bard can be conveniently accessed from the left side of the menu. On this page, you have the option to add additional preferences or delete existing ones. If you prefer not to have Bard remember all your details, you can easily disable this feature from the left side of the screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s worth noting that Google Bard is gradually rolling out the new ‘Memory’ feature, so it may take some time before it becomes available on your account. In recent months, Google has introduced several new features, including Bard extensions that enable the AI-powered chatbot to interact with various Google services like Drive and Gmail, in addition to providing support for over 40 languages.
